New One Day Workshop - March 27, 2010

Bringing PMC to the Bench: 24K Gold Gilding on PMC

In this fun and informative day, you will learn two techniques for embellishing PMC with 24K gold.

AGS, Accent Gold for Silver, is gold powder which is mixed into a paste, painted on PMC, and fused in a kiln.

Keum Boo is the technique in which 24K gold foil is diffusion bonded to PMC with heat and pressure.

Both techniques provide an economical way of adding gold to silver. We will discuss the advantages and the circumstances best suited for each of these techniques, including how to adapt the techniques for embellishing sterling and fine silver sheet. You will have hands on experience applying both techniques to your own PMC designs.
